* When water passes through that hole, its pressure passing speed increases. Most water jets have a mixing chamber and nozzle directly below the orifice of the cutting head assembly.

* The mixing chamber is where the grinding medium (usually garnet) is sucked into the water stream.

* In abrasive water jet cutting, abrasives are used for cutting, and water is a means of accelerating abrasive grains.

* Below the mixing chamber is a nozzle, in which water accelerates the abrasive, forming a thin and well-defined water jet that can cut the material.

Of course, choosing a suitable size of garnet sand can reduce the loss of abrasives, protect the material from damage, and better complete the cutting process. Generally, garnets of 80 mesh and 60 mesh are widely used for cutting materials.
